NTCC Phi Theta Kappa wins national USA Today competition

† † † †Alpha Mu Chi, Northeast Texas Community College?s chapter of Phi Theta†Kappa, earned national acclaim as one of four chapters to win the 2013 Honors Case†Study Challenge competition sponsored by USA Today. Tied to the larger Phi†Theta Kappa Honors in Action research project, the Case Study Challenge†competition gives chapter members an opportunity to focus their attention on a†specific area of study.

Eagles Baseball kicks off spring season

The Northeast Texas Community College (NTCC) Eagles Baseball program is off to a rocky start after losing its season openers Friday and Saturday to Hill College and Cedar Valley Community College in non-conference play.



According to Assistant Coach Shane Wedd, Friday's game was the first chance that many of the players had to play in a regular season game and, despite these early setbacks, he is optimistic about the team's potential this season.

Filing for NTCC board places begins Jan. 29

Filing for Place One, Place Two, Place Three, Place Five and Place Six on the Northeast Texas Community College Board of Trustees will begin on†Wednesday, January 29, 2014, and continues through†5 p.m., Friday, February 28, 2014.†Filing applications are available from elections clerk Cindy Foster in the NTCC administration building from 8:30 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on Fridays.

Offices open Saturday for registration


Northeast Texas Community College (main campus student services) will be open from 8 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Jan. 11 to assist students needing to complete the registration process for the spring semester. Students will have the opportunity to speak with academic advisors, access computers to register online, make payments and receive help with financial aid.†The College Store will also be open during this time to allow students to purchase books and other supplies.†The spring semester begins Monday, Jan. 13.
