U.S. Congressman John Ratcliffe to visit campus

United States Congressman John Ratcliffe will visit Northeast Texas Community College†Thursday,†Jan. 21 at 2:30 p.m. He will speak in the Criminal Justice Center to Police Academy cadets on the topic of Cyber Security,†Terrorism and Illegal Immigration. Mr. Ratcliffe represents the fourth district of Texas, which includes the NTCC district, in the United States House of Representatives.

As U.S. Attorney, he was the top federal law enforcement officer for a 33,000 square mile area of North and East Texas, including almost all of the 4th Congressional District.

NTCC open Saturday from 8-Noon




Northeast Texas Community College will be open from 8 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Jan. 16 to assist students who need assistance finalizing registration for the Spring 2016 semester. Students will have the opportunity to make payments, check on financial aid status, turn in financial aid or admissions documentation and make schedule adjustments.

Math, science students learn about environmental engineering

Kenneth Irizarry, P.E.,†Professor of Engineering, recently spoke to students attending the monthly Math/Science Student Organization.† In his presentation entitled ?Environmental Engineering?, he talked about the required credentials, industry needs, and example projects for a career in this field of engineering.

Free GED, ESL classes scheduled

The Adult Education Department at Northeast Texas Community College (NTCC) will offer free General Education Development (GED) and English as a Second Language (ESL) classes at various locations beginning in January. NTCC health science programs tackle regional healthcare challenges

Have you noticed that more of your friends and family are getting sick lately? If so, you?re not alone.

Recent studies show that residents of rural Northeast Texas are among the sickest in the state per capita. Patients in this region suffer from high incidences of chronic diseases and are more likely to pass away from their conditions than residents of other parts of the state. While these statistics may seem grim, work is being done to improve the quality and availability of healthcare for rural Texans.
