Adult Education hosts Lunch and Learn on the Lawn

The Northeast Texas Community College Adult Education Department held a Lunch and Learn on the Lawn for GED and ESL students and instructors this week. The Adult Education Department recently relocated to the Community Resource Center (CRC) at 105 N. Riddle in Mount Pleasant (old Mount Pleasant High school and Administration Building). They plan to have a special event each month to highlight their programs and encourage student participation.

Night police academy offered in New Boston

Northeast Texas Community College is hosting an evening Police Academy (Basic Peace Officer Training) beginning October 3 at the Elementary School building in New Boston. The training program is 34 weeks and meets from 5:30-10:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday and every second and fourth Saturday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The cost is $1,556 plus books and uniforms. NTCC offers affordable payment plans and this program qualifies for limited grant assistance for eligible students.

Wesley Fellowship center nears completion

Many of you may have noticed a new building being constructed†adjacent to the NTCC campus. The Wesley Fellowship Center, which is a†result of years of fundraising and planning by members of the Wesley Fellowship, is slated to open within the next few months. The facility features a kitchen, multipurpose room, classrooms and an apartment for the building manager. In addition to being utilized for Bible studies and fellowship events, the center will also be used by NTCC and Chapel Hill for various other purposes. Look for further information in the near future!
