Baseball spring break action

Northeast Texas Community College Baseball as busy during spring break with six games over eight days. NTCC opened spring break up with a Saturday conference two game set with Bossier Parrish Community College, losing 7-1 and 8-0.

NTCC would bounce back on Monday, March 13th when they traveled to Centenary College and picked up a 12-4 road non-conference win.

BSM hosts worship night with Curtis Grimes on March 31st

The NTCC Baptist Student Ministry and Ten Finger Ministry are hosting a night of music and worship featuring Curtis Grimes on March 31st at Moody Ranch (3491 FM 1000, Mt. Pleasant). Gates open at 7 p.m. and the show starts at 8 p.m. The family-friendly event is open to all NTCC students, employees and families and there is no cost to attend. 

"We are very excited to offer this opportunity for the NTCC community to gather in a safe, laid-back environment to enjoy music and fellowship," Tim Williams, Director of NTCC BSM, said.

Brandon Pettey places at A&M research symposium

NTCC Adjunct Instructor of Developmental English Brandon Pettey recently won second place at the Texas A&M University System Pathways Student Research Symposium in Galveston, Texas. The symposium brings students together from all the A&M University campuses to present research projects and compete in their various disciplines at the undergraduate, master’s, or PhD level. Pettey competed in the master’s Humanities category and presented a paper on the relationship between time and trauma as it is represented in two short stories.

Mt. Pleasant Art Society show to run through March

The Northeast Texas Community College Art Department will host the Mount Pleasant Art Society Annual Membership Show March 10th-30th in the foyer of the Whatley Center for the Performing Arts. The competitive show features artwork from a variety of local artists. A reception will be held Saturday, March 11th from 2:00-3:30 p.m. in the Whatley Center Foyer. New to the exhibit awards this year is the People’s Choice Award.  Anyone visiting the exhibit is encouraged to vote for his/her favorite artwork.
