ITTC to add CNC Operator certificate

Northeast Texas Community College announced on Thursday an important expansion of its training opportunities at the Industrial Technology Training Center in Mount Pleasant.†Thanks to a partnership with the Mount Pleasant Economic Development Corporation and Workforce Solutions Northeast, NTCC will soon offer a certificate program in Computer Numerical Controls (CNC) Operator at the ITTC.

Honors Northeast seeks submissions for poetry contest

The eighth annual Northeast Texas Poetry Contest and Reading is again open to the public.† Amateur, accomplished or aspiring poets of any age are welcome to submit their best poem on the topic of life in Northeast Texas.†Poets are encouraged to accent or enliven the sense of the surroundings, the people, the culture or the history of our region.†The deadline date for submission is August 28 at noon. Cypress Bank-Lone Star recently presented a high-end laptop for the use of Northeast Texas Community College Honors students. This year?s recipient, Cruz Gallegos (pictured center), was the 2015 Valedictorian at Daingerfield High School. Dr. Andrew Yox, Honors Director (left) and Billie Sue Hanson, Cypress Bank-Lone Star Vice President (right) are pictured making the presentation. NTCC ads orientation date

Due to increased demand, Northeast Texas Community College will add an additional date for new students to attend myEagle Orientation. Any first-time student who has not yet attended orientation and plans to take classes at NTCC this fall should make plans to sign up for this final session on Wednesday, Aug. 5.

The event begins in the Student Union Building (SUB) at 8 a.m. and will last until approximately†1:30†p.m.

Progressive Women's Organization gives $1,000 to Whatley Campaign

The Progressive Women's Organization of Mount Pleasant recently gave $1,000 to support the Northeast Texas Community College Campaign for the Whatley. Their gift will sponsor a theatre seat in honor of their organization and one in memory of Verner Cornelius. NTCC signs partnership with Texas A&M-Texarkana

Northeast Texas Community College and Texas A&M University-Texarkana officials signed a dual admissions agreement today at Northeast Texas Community College, formalizing a partnership benefitting students who wish to attain baccalaureate degrees. Officials also signed a financial aid consortium allowing NTCC and A&M-Texarkana students to be concurrently enrolled without disruption to their financial aid award.

Texas Pioneer Foundation supports NTCC Work Scholarship Program

The Texas Pioneer Foundation recently awarded a $40,000 grant to support the Work Scholarship Program at Northeast Texas Community College.
