Alpha Mu Chi, NTCC’s chapter of Phi Theta Kappa, hosted a District III meeting in the Community Room on campus May 1. Representatives from colleges in the district, including Tyler Junior College, Paris Junior College, Kilgore College, McClennan Community College, Trinity Valley Community College, and others, attended the event in-person or via zoom.
Cade Bennett, the District III Vice-President and NTCC student, noted “Hosting the first in-person meeting in the district wasn't something we took lightly, as we ensured the safety of participants with masks, social distancing, and release forms available to be filled out beforehand.”
The event included several workshops with games in-between for both in person participants and attendees over zoom. Coffee and donuts opened the meeting, lunch from Chick-Fil-A came in the middle, and a scholarship session with laughter and excited fellowshipping ended the event. Attendees expressed appreciation at the opportunity to get together as well as learn more about the opportunities provided by Phi Theta Kappa programs and scholarships.
