Northeast Texas Community College’s Psi Beta chapter recently received a Certificate of Chapter Excellence from the Psi Beta National Council. The award is in recognition of the chapter's outstanding contribution to the achievement of Psi Beta’s goals of leadership, research, service, scholarship, and the promotion of greater knowledge of psychology over the 2018-2019 academic year. In addition to the award, the chapter also received $100. The chapter is led by Dr. Karyn Skaar, NTCC Associate Professor of Psychology.
“I am proud of what this small group of students accomplished last year,” Skaar said.
Psi Beta is a selective honor society and members are chosen based on their outstanding overall scholarship and their scholarship in the field of psychology. Psi Beta is a member of the Association of College Honor Societies and is an affiliate of the American Psychological Association and the American Psychological Society.
