Ideal Impact energy efficiency project begins July 28

On Wednesday, July 28, Ideal Impact will begin working on the NTCC campus. Ideal Impact is a consulting firm that works with schools and churches to maximize energy efficiency and save a significant amount of money for the institution over time. The project will include implementing new HVAC software, weatherization and other upgrades to improve efficiency at the college.

The initial phase is installation, weatherization and zoning, which will not disrupt the normal activities on the campus.  There will be workmen from Ideal Impact who will have clearly visible identification and who have been trained to perform their tasks in a manner that avoids significant disruptions. The plan is to start in the dorms, followed by classrooms, and then office spaces so that we get as much work as possible completed in student spaces before their return to campus for the fall semester.

After the process is complete, there will be new HVAC controls and some other aspects of the system that employees will be trained on. System upgrades are not only geared toward cost savings, but also for increased comfort levels and temperature control across campus.

Questions about the project can be directed to Tom Ramler at tramler@ntcc.edu.
