Entertainment Series
Kicking off the season is the illustrious GENTRI on October 23, 2023. Sponsored by Texas Heritage National Bank, GENTRI, The Gentlemen Trio, is composed of three dynamic tenors: Brad Robins, Casey Elliott, and Bradley Quinn Lever. Their harmonious blend is accentuated by the award-winning composer and arranger Stephen Nelson, resulting in a symphonic experience that's not to be missed.
A festive fusion awaits on December 12, 2023, with "One Christmas Night in Memphis," sponsored by Cypress Bank. This high-energy concert transports the audience back to the rock 'n' roll era of the 1950s, reimagining the legendary jam session that brought together icons Elvis Presley, Carl Perkins, Jerry Lee Lewis, and Johnny Cash at Sun Records. This rockabilly holiday extravaganza guarantees a foot-tapping good time.
On January 19, 2024, Guaranty Bank & Trust proudly presents "Voices of Classic Soul." Featuring former lead singers from The Temptations, The Platters, The Drifters, and The Four Tops, this soul-stirring performance unites Theo Peoples, Joe Coleman, and Joe Blunt in a showcase of timeless hits and captivating showmanship. This spectacular fusion of talent will resonate with fans of classic soul and new listeners alike.
Immerse yourself in the enchanting allure of Celtic melodies on March 19, 2024, with "Celtic Angels Ireland," sponsored by Suzy & Jerry Boatner. Let the Celtic Knights Dancers transport you to Ireland's heart, while the melodies sweep you across the vast expanse of emotion, from joy to melancholy, in an experience that transcends boundaries.
All Entertainment Series shows are included in season ticket packages, while individual tickets are priced at $35 for adults and $10 for students.
Special Events
Country music legend Marty Stuart and His Fabulous Superlatives grace the stage on October 5, 2023. This five-time GRAMMY-winner, platinum recording artist, and Grand Ole Opry star promises an unforgettable evening of country classics and captivating storytelling. Presented by the NTCC Foundation, tickets are priced at $40 for all seats.
Breaking musical boundaries, Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Bluegrass Band takes the stage on February 9, 2024. Sponsored by Drs. Mary White and Brad Scharf, this unique ensemble infuses Beatles tunes with bluegrass, jazz, and classical elements, creating an innovative and toe-tapping musical cocktail. Tickets are $25 for adults and $10 for students.
Sounds of Northeast Series: Celebrating Local Talent
The vibrant Sounds of Northeast Series shines a spotlight on regional performers. Dr. Andrew Daniel and his ensemble, featuring Andre Daniel (violin), Sherry Daniel (piano), and Julee Walker (flute), take center stage on October 29, 2023, with proceeds benefiting the NTCC music department. On February 18, 2024, experience the contemporary gospel stylings of Jimmy Smith, Jr., followed by Dr. Ron Clinton's Benefit Piano Concert on March 3, 2024, supporting the NTCC Foundation. Concluding the series, the Mt. Pleasant Chamber Orchestra enchants audiences on April 13, 2024.
Theatre Northeast
Theatre enthusiasts are in for a treat with two riveting performances. "Yes, Virginia, There is a Santa Claus" by Andrew J. Fenady, in conjunction with Pittsburg Camp County Arts Council’s Firefly Community Theatre, will be performed from November 16-18, 2023, offering a heartwarming holiday tale for the whole family. Then, from April 25-27, 2024, Melissa Cooper's "Antigone Now" captivates with its thought-provoking narrative.
In addition to these great performances, the NTCC Art Department will also host numerous free art exhibits in the Whatley Center’s foyer gallery.
