NTCC is excited to announce a new Cyber Security Micro Credential program that will kick off in Spring 2022. This one-semester certificate will prepare students for an exciting career in a rapidly-growing field that is in high-demand from companies in this region and beyond. Full scholarships are available to students who act now! Click here for more information.
Is the Cyber Security program right for you? This is an entry-level certificate, so you do not have to have a strong foundation in computer science to succeed. The ideal candidate will have at least moderate computer literacy and a willingness to learn!
What is the time commitment for the program? The Cyber Security micro credential program takes place over the course of one full semester. Classes begin January 18, 2022 and will be completed on May 12, 2022. Students will enroll in all three courses, which will be structured as follows:
- Introduction to Computing (COSC 1301): 16-week course that runs January 18, 2022 through May 12, 2022
- Fundamentals of Networking Technologies (INTW 1325): 8-week course that runs January 18, 2022 through March 11, 2022
- Information Technology Security (ITSY 1342): 8-week course that runs March 21, 2022 through May 12, 2022
How are courses delivered? The Cyber Security micro credential program is completely online. There is not an on-campus component and courses are delivered remotely. However, students are welcome to utilize on-campus resources as needed.
How much does the program cost? Because this is an in-demand field that needs workers, there is a special scholarship available that will fully cover the cost for Texas residents. For more information, please contact Jimmy Smith at jsmith@ntcc.edu or 903-434-8330.
What is the catch? The only catch is that you have to act quickly to take advantage of this amazing opportunity. The scholarship is only available for a limited time, so it is important that you enroll for the classes that start January 18.
