Northeast Texas Community College is one of the best colleges in the nation to work for, according to a new survey by The Great Colleges to Work For® program.
The results, recently released in a special insert of The Chronicle of Higher Education, are based on a nation-wide survey of colleges and universities. In all, only 79 institutions of higher education across the country achieved the “Great College to Work For” designation in recognition for specific best practices and policies. Results are reported for small, medium, and large institutions, with NTCC included among the medium colleges and universities with 3,000 to 9,999 students.
NTCC won honors in two categories this year: Confidence in Senior Leadership and Compensation and Benefits.
“NTCC is a very special place to work. Our college employees are uniquely committed to the college mission empowering students to succeed. They strongly believe in what they do and have a passion for their work. This makes all the difference in maintaining a vibrant workplace environment and, I believe, is the secret ingredient that makes us all feel like a team, working together to accomplish great things for our students,” said Dr. Ron Clinton, NTCC President.
The survey results are based on a two-part assessment process: an institution questionnaire that captured employment data and workplace policies from each institution, and a survey administered to faculty, administrators, and professional support staff. The primary factor in deciding whether an institution received recognition was the employee feedback.
The Great Colleges to Work For® program is one of the largest and most respected workplace-recognition programs in the country.
