Chuck and Sarah Johns give Work4College scholarship

The Northeast Texas Community College Foundation recently received a $1,000 gift from Chuck and Sarah Johns, of Pittsburg. The donation will provide a student from Camp County with a scholarship for NTCC’s Work4College Program this summer. Thanks to an additional grant, the funds will be matched at 100 percent for a total impact of $2,000. The Johns are pictured (right) presenting the gift to Nita May (left), NTCC Director of Development, and Dr. Jonathan McCullough, NTCC Executive Vice President for Advancement. The funeral service program at NTCC was a great program that helped me become confident in the field. I learned great skills that will benefit me from being a funeral director to an embalmer. This program worked for me, being able to do it online remotely. I was able to work full-time; and gain knowledge from being able to work hands on doing an apprenticeship. The courses here at NTCC were beneficial and important to help us be successful as we go and serve the families in the areas where we reside. My experience here was amazing, the Funeral Service Professors were amazing and willing to help in any way to help us become successful. — Kelby Dayley
