Theatre Northeast presents Harvey

Theatre Northeast will present Mary Chase's 1944 Pulitzer Prize Winning comedy†Harvey†in the Whatley Center for the Performing Arts on the Northeast Texas Community College campus. Performances will be April 23, 24 and 25 at 7:30 p.m. and April 26 at 2:05 p.m.

Running on Broadway for over four years and 1,775 performances and being honored with the coveted Pulitzer Prize, the celebrated comedy†Harvey†became one of the most popular and successful plays ever produced. †It was later made into an iconic movie starring Jimmy Stewart.

Harvey†has endeared generations of audiences by exploring relationship of Elwood P. Dowd and his best friend, the 6-foot 1 and one-half inch white rabbit named Harvey, which only he can see. This charming and whimsical comedy features Distinguished Theatre Northeast Alumnus Nick Derby, of Mount Pleasant, in the role of Elwood. Other Distinguished Theatre Northeast Alumni are Kathryn Comer, of Omaha, and John Chambers of Mount Pleasant. Other cast members include Lauren Shortnacy, Kaitlyn Currey, Kelsey Reichman, Ariah Burkhalter and John Coleman, all of Mount Pleasant; Marcy Logan, Kathryn Comer and Cheyenne Shoemaker, of Omaha; Elizabeth Griffin and Justin Mejia, of Pittsburg; Corin Carter and Landri Smith, of Gilmer; David Harrison and Abigail Harrison, of Quitman; Cassia Rose and Athena Hayes, of Winnsboro; Trace Lewis, of Redwater, and Esmeralda Velazquez, of Linden.

Ticket prices are $10 for Adults, $7 for ages 17-and-under, $5 for NTCC Faculty, Staff and Senior Citizens, and no charge for NTCC Students with a current ID. There will be open seating and reservations are not necessary.
