The Northeast Texas Community College Continuing Education Department has a full slate of classes scheduled for this fall. These non-credit courses can be†taken for personal enrichment or for career training†purposes. Sign up is fast and there is no lengthy application process. What about the separation of church and state?†Join us for a spirited discussion and a history of our nation and how some of our beliefs were formed.††October 6†? Ag Mechanics†-†Tractor Performance Workshop†? Introduction to the principle mechanics of operating, maintaining and repairing equipment utilized on the farm and lawn. This eight-week class meets†October 13†? November 3 on†Tuesdays & Thursdays at 6:00 pm at the Elizabeth Hoggatt Whatley Agriculture Complex.††Tuition: $98
The Rise of Texas ?†Dr. Andrew Yox takes us on a†historic tour of the Lone Star State.††Learn about the rise of Texas and how it has become the 11th largest economy of the world (if we were treated as a nation).† Class meets†October 13†? November 3 on†Tuesdays from 6-8 p.m. at the NTCC Hanson Sewell Center in Pittsburg.††Tuition: $52
Financial Workshop Series: Reaching Your Financial Goals -†This course is a three-week workshop series on†October 13,†20, and 27.††The workshop will cover these topics:†Social Security Strategies;†Financial Fundamentals and†Preparing for Life and Retirement.††Tuition: $30
The Professional Driving Academy†? The†Professional Driving Academy is a five-week program that gets you on the road to a better career in a short amount of time. New classes start the first Monday of every month and consists of 40 hours of classroom, and 160 hours of driving.†Academy start dates are October 5, November 2, and December 7.††If you need financial Assistance, limited aid may be available. Training costs may be covered by special programs if par≠ticipant meets eligibility criteria.††Participants must be at least 18 years old and be able to pass a DOT physical, drug screen, and MVR check.†Tuition: $4,191
The Northeast Police Academy†?†The†Northeast Police Academy is designed for working adults that don?t wish to attend the fast track academy. The 643-hour academy meets Monday-Thursday evenings and alter≠nate Saturdays. This course runs approximately 27 weeks.††The Northeast Police Academy is a fully accredited academy, with accreditation through Texas Commission on Law Enforce≠ment (TCOLE). The†Next academy starts October 5†and ends April 11, 2016.†Tuition is†$1,556†plus books and uniforms.††Limited financial aid may be available and an optional payment plan is available.
Office Support Course†-†Do†you want to take a college level course in office support skills that won?t take a full semester to complete? Do you need to update your skills to enhance your current job, or are you about to re-enter the workforce and need to prepare for a better opportunity? Personal Fitness Trainer Certificate ?†This 15-hour course is a comprehensive, research-based program†designed to provide students with all of the skills required to become a personal trainer. Participants will learn cutting-edge information about exercise science, flexibility, resistance training,†nutrition, mind/body exercises and cardio workouts. Additionally, students will experience sports performance†enhancement drills and program development techniques.†To become a Certified Personal Trainer, you must receive a passing score on the written and practical exam†following the course of study.†Tuition:†$130
