Doug Richey†presents Cindy Parsons†with a gift basket†for being named NTCC?s Fittest Employee†of the Month†for May.†To receive this award, an employee must†be caught practicing†overt wellness behavior and attitude.†

The Wellness Committee is on the lookout for a June recipient!

Here's a message from Cindy regarding her†personal wellness plan?

Thanks to the members of the Wellness Committee for helping to keep the idea of health and wellness on everyone?s radar.† I have always struggled with my weight and have tried various things over the years to lose and maintain.† Maintain is the hard part. †Although I have always known what it takes, I finally decided to actually buy into it ? eat less and move more ? and keep it up.† At least eat less unhealthy foods and more healthy ones, particularly in the areas of fruits and vegetables.† As most of us know, it is much easier and requires much less thought to grab those fast-food meals or unhealthy snacks.† Eating healthy is not all that easy, especially when you first start really thinking about it.† It takes some thought and planning.† Over the past 18 months or so I have almost completely given up soft drinks and replaced them with water, even though I have been drinking diet drinks for years, and try to get in several servings of fruits and vegetables every day.† I use an activity tracker mainly just to prompt me when I need to move more during any given day.† I?ve lost a little over 30 pounds which makes me feel better and helps me keep up with my 3-year-old grandson, most definitely a good reward!
