San Jacinto College is headed to the JUCO Baseball World Series in Grand Junction, Colorado. The Gators remained undefeated throughout the Region XIV tourney and beat Navarro College 1-0 to win it all.
Despite having played four games in the tourney, one earlier in the day, Navarro put up a good fight against a the fresh San Jacinto team.
Both teams were scoreless in the first two innings. San Jacinto put the only run of the game on the board in the bottom of the third. Galli Cribbs singled to center to get on base. Jarred Fancher sacrificed to advance Cribbs to second. Jason Wilson singled to the pitcher, scoring Cribbs.
Both teams? pitchers performed well. Daniel Stumpf got the win for San Jacinto. He pitched seven innings and gave up only two hits and two walks. He struck out five.
Chad Young pitched the whole eight innings for Navarro. He gave up five hits, one run and three walks. Young struck out nine.
Kirby Taylor, Kyle Bacak, Galli Cribbs, Jarred Fancher and Reggie Wilson each had one hit for San Jacinto.
Navarro?s offense was Weston Hall, Kaleb Goodell and Ryan Ford with one hit apiece.
