† † † Northeast Texas Community College will host an NTCC 101 college readiness †night on Thursday, June 28 from 6:30-8:00 p.m. in the Student Union Building. Representatives from advising, financial aid, admissions, the business office, testing and other areas will be available to assist students.
† † † The event is free and open to the public. Both current and prospective students are encouraged to attend. Whether you are already enrolled or you are just now deciding to attend college, NTCC 101 is a great time to stop by.
† † † "The fall semester is just around the corner and we know there are a lot of people out there with questions and concerns about getting enrolled. We have planned an evening where students can get all of their questions answered and take care of business at one time," Alex Ortega, NTCC Advisor/Recuriting Specialist, said.
† † † Students who are just beginning the process of enrolling should plan to bring their 2011 tax returns (either their own or their parents if they are a dependent) if they would like to receive assistance in completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
† † † "We realize that admissions and financial aid forms can be confusing. If you come to NTCC 101 with all of your information, we will have people on hand to help you with the process," Ortega said. "If you can't bring you tax forms, we can still show you how to get started."
† † † In addition to student services, there will be free pizza, cookies and drinks for attendees, as well as door prizes.†Tours of the NTCC residence halls will also be given.
† † † "It should be a fun evening. We don't want people to stay away because they have to cook dinner. Bring the family with you!" Ortega said.
