Faculty Guide: Requesting New Materials

We are always looking for faculty recommendations of new, relevant resources to add to the library collection.

If you a find an advertisement or review for a book that looks useful for your classes, send a photocopy to the library with a note requesting consideration.  If you have only the title or a subject, please contact the reference librarian at ext. 8152.

If you would like to recommend a new subscription to a magazine, journal, or newspaper, also contact the reference librarian.

If you want us to purchase a video, please first check to make sure we do not offer the video in our streaming video collection.  If not, bring the information you have to the reference librarian.  We may require that you preview the video and complete a written recommendation afterwards before we will initiate a purchase.

Under no circumstances will the library be responsible for purchasing materials for which a faculty member has made a commitment to purchase independently of the library.  In addition, items purchased with library funds are subject to the circulation policies of the Charlie and Helen Hampton Library.  Items purchased may, if requested by faculty, be placed on reserve.
