Summary:
Under general supervision of the Director of Plant Services, the Entry Level Maintenance Technician assists in maintaining the college physical plant and supports routine maintenance tasks across campus facilities.
Job Duties:
- Assists with basic electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and HVAC tasks under supervision.
- Performs routine maintenance such as replacing HVAC filters and resetting breakers.
- Assists in repairs and upkeep of existing facility systems.
- Helps install small components, fixtures, and hardware as required.
- Assists in room set up for special college events.
- Moves office and classroom furniture as needed.
- Assists the Crafts Technician and Grounds Department when needed.
- Assists in keeping shop and work areas clean and organized.
- Response to routine maintenance service requests and reports issues promptly.
- Performs related duties as assigned.
- Supports campus improvement projects including painting, furniture assembly, and minor construction tasks.
Required Qualifications:
- Physically unimpaired in anyway.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.
- Must be extremely alert to sights and sounds.
- High school diploma or G.E.D. required.
- Basic knowledge or willingness to learn HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and carpentry.
- Must have good mechanical aptitude.
- Ability to follow instructions, read basic diagrams, and learn technical procedures.
- Good communication skills and customer service orientation.
- Valid driver’s license required.
