Description of Job Duties:
- Plan, develop, and administer continuing & corporate education programs throughout the college service area that reflects community interests, needs, and expectations.
- Work with various constituents across the college to develop continuing & corporate education and corporate training opportunities that align with various disciplines and needs.
- Work with community leaders, business, industry and advisors to assess program and continuing & community education/training needs and respond as appropriate.
- Ensure that appropriate quality curriculum is developed (or adopted) and implemented as per agency regulations.
- Analyze program needs, plan and schedule classes, and make course-related decisions.
- Manage a one-stop, full-service system of customer service, which supports the non-credit function of the college and strategic plan component of Community Engagement.
- Recruit, select, orient, supervise, and evaluate adjunct faculty and ensure that credentials meet all necessary agency requirements.
- Provide faculty with adequate resources and space for teaching; help them become familiar with adult learning theory and teaching practice.
- Prepare and monitor a budget that supports changing community expectations and specific departmental goals. Approve appropriate expenditures.
- Work with marketing department to develop and implement an annual publicity and marketing plan for the production of class schedules, brochures, flyers, news releases, public service announcements and ads.
- Coordinates the preparation of the CCE schedule.
- Serve on various committees as needed.
- Serve as the primary liaison to regulating and funding agencies in program areas and maintain all required records as needed.
- Supervise and coordinate the Continuing & Community Education personnel on campus to ensure that offices procedures are implemented and that the office is covered during regular office hours.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Dean of Workforce Education.
Experience and Other Qualifications Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field required
- Master's degree in Business Administration or related field preferred
- Experience in higher education, continuing/corporate education or related field required
- Development, coordination, and management of non-credit programs and courses is required.
- Must be able to analyze needs, establish goals, develop curriculum, schedule classes, secure resources, and ensure successful programs.
- Must have a general knowledge (or quickly learn) of the various regulating agencies, as well as procedures and requirements of the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board.
