Guaranty Bank & Trust wins 2024 NTCC Foundation Golf Classic

The Northeast Texas Community College Foundation held its annual Golf Classic on Monday, Oct. 21st at Princedale Country Club in Pittsburg. The tournament raised over $20,000 to support the NTCC Work4College Program.

The Guaranty Bank and Trust team won the six-man-scramble, shooting 19 under.  The winning team (pictured from left) included Tyler Verner, Trent Abbott, Jey Yancey, Patrick Redfearn, and Jace Baker. In the closest to the hole contest, Grady Townsend won first place and Robby Dunn won second place.  

Work4College receives donation from AEP SWEPCO

The Northeast Texas Community College Work4College Program recently received a grant of $1,500 from Southwestern Electric Power Company (SWEPCO) and the American Electric Power (AEP) Foundation. The funds will be used to sponsor a student in the 2025 Summer Work4College Program. Donate $10 to celebrate 10 years of Work4College!

It is hard to believe that NTCC’s Work4College Program is celebrating its 10-year anniversary this summer! When the program kicked off a decade ago with just 14 students working on the college farm, we had no idea the impact it would come to have on our campus and the lives of countless students. This summer we have 89 participants who are WORKING hard to EARN their college education.

Northeast Texas Community College has been a busy place this week as the summer session officially kicked off on Monday, June 3rd. In addition to regular classes, there are several special programs taking place that are bringing even more students to campus than usual! The following programs are currently active – with many of these students living on campus:

Texas Pioneer Foundation gives $60,000 for Work4College

The Northeast Texas Community College Foundation recently received $60,000 from the Texas Pioneer Foundation to support the Work4College Program. Dr. Jonathan McCullough (left), NTCC Executive Vice President for Advancement, is pictured receiving the check from Fred Markham on behalf of the foundation. The funds will be used to cover costs associated with the Work4College Program, which allows students to earn money for college through meaningful campus jobs during the summer.

NTCC wins national Bellwether Award

Northeast Texas Community College is excited to announce that it has won a 2024 national Bellwether Award for its innovative Work4College program. NTCC received the Best In Showcase Award at the 2024 Community College Futures Assembly in San Antonio this week in the category of Planning, Governance and Finance.  The Bellwether competition is the most prestigious competition for community colleges and recognizes cutting-edge, trendsetting programs worthy of replication among the more than 1,000 community colleges across the nation.

Work4College receives $12,000 gift

The Northeast Texas Community College Foundation recently received a $12,000 grant from an anonymous foundation to sponsor six students in the Work4College Program. An additional matching grant opportunity has effectively doubled the impact, resulting in a $24,000 contribution. This grant will be utilized to expand the reach of the Work4College Program. Foundation receives $197,778 from matching grant

The Northeast Texas Community College Foundation recently received a check for $197,778 in Title V matching funds from the U.S. Department of Education. Thanks to a unique provision of the federal grant, all donations to the Foundation’s endowment are matched 100 percent by Title V funds.
