Dr. Chris McAllister’s General Biology (1406 Honors) class (pic) has been involved this fall semester in studying the geographic distribution of tardigrades (see pic) in several counties of East Texas. Tardigrades or “water bears” are interesting microscopic organisms found in both terrestrial and aquatic environments on lichens and mosses. Little to nothing is known about their distribution in the eastern part of Texas. Thus far, students have discovered several new county records, the first of its kind in this part of the state.

Santa Claus is coming to NTCC

Head Women's Soccer Coach

The soccer coach is responsible for performing all duties regarding recruiting players, organizing, practicing, maintaining the playing field and practice facilities, scheduling, budgeting, developing student athletes, fundraising, and representing the college in the community as well as all other duties related to the women’s soccer program and the student athletes who participate.  The Head Soccer Coach's position requires great leadership of a college athletic program. This person must have high regard for sportsmanship and academic achievement.

Vocational Nursing program celebrates fourth year of perfect pass rates

The Northeast Texas Community College Vocational Nursing (VN) program recently learned that 100% of its graduates from August 2024 passed their NCLEX-PN examinations. This marks the fourth year in a row that the VN program has had a 100% pass rate. 

“This is a true testament to the dedication and hard work of our instructors and the excellence of our students. I’m incredibly proud of this accomplishment, and I look forward to seeing how we can continue to grow and strengthen our program,” Dr. Charla Denman, NTCC Director of Nursing Programs, said.
