NTCC Board meets for regular May meeting
The Northeast Texas Community College Board of Trustees met for its regular May meeting on Tuesday, May 28th. The first order of business was the Oath of Office Ceremony for a new board member in Place Seven.
Titus County Judge, Kent Cooper, was in attendance to swear in Kerry Wootten as the newly-elected board member. He filled the place that was made available after the retirement of longtime board member, Dr. Dan McCauley.
NTCC hosts Commissioner Alberto Treviño, III for area visit
Northeast Texas Community College was pleased to host Commissioner Representing Labor Alberto Treviño, III, of the Texas Workforce Commission, for an area visit last week. The day began with a stop at Newly Weds Foods in Mount Pleasant. George Winchester, Newly Weds Food Mount Pleasant Plant Manager, led a tour of their facilities.
Canva workshops planned for June
The Northeast Texas Community College Continuing Education Department is pleased to offer a Canva Basics 2-Part Workshop this June. The course will meet June 8th and 15th from 10 a.m. to noon in the Student Union Building (SUB) on the main NTCC campus.
The class will cover the basics of utilizing Canva to create graphic content. This is a great opportunity for anyone interested in graphic design, social media or anyone who would like to learn more about how to use Canva to create engaging designs.

The Northeast Texas Star Foundation in Longview, Texas held its fourth annual Athlete of the Year Awards banquet at Maude Cobb Convention Center on May 19, 2024 and Braylynn Henderson from NTCC Softball was named the Collegiate Women’s Athlete of the Year.

Adult Education hosts GED graduation ceremony
The Northeast Texas Community College Adult Education Department recently held a graduation ceremony to celebrate 30 students who completed the requirements for the GED (General Equivalency Diploma). Eight students were inducted into the National Adult Education Honor Society and the winner of the J. Travis Jackson Memorial Scholarship was also announced.
NTCC conducts Train the Trainer course at Mid America Pet Foods
From May 8th to May 10th, Northeast Texas Community College conducted a comprehensive Train the Trainer course at Mid America Pet Foods' industry site. This intensive program was designed to equip supervisors with effective content delivery skills tailored for the workplace. Over the course of three days, participants engaged in interactive sessions and practical exercises, enhancing their ability to train their teams efficiently.
