The NTCC Eagles Rodeo team is excited to welcome Drew Madden as its new assistant coach. A first-generation cowboy from Sloughhouse, California, Coach Madden is a graduate of East Texas A&M University with a degree in Agricultural Science and also holds an associate degree in AG Science and Technology from West Hills Community College in Coalinga. He is a seasoned competitor, having qualified for the CNFR, been a three-time California Circuit Finals qualifier in steer wrestling, and earned the 2024 California Rookie of the Year title.
“Drew brings a wealth of knowledge, skill, and passion to our program,” said Justin Hampton, Head Rodeo Coach. “We’re thrilled to have him on board to mentor our student-athletes and help take our team to the next level.”
Coach Madden is committed to developing students both as competitors and as individuals, emphasizing fundamentals, consistency, mental toughness, and character. His hands-on rodeo experience, combined with his academic background in agricultural science, allows him to connect classroom knowledge with real-world application.
He remains active in the rodeo community and is passionate about preserving the Western lifestyle and values that shaped him. As assistant coach, he looks forward to helping the next generation of competitors achieve success in the arena and beyond.
