Northeast Texas Community College (NTCC) is proud to announce the promotion of longtime employee and alumnus Russell Taylor to the position of commissioned police officer with the NTCC Police Department.
Taylor has served the college in various roles for over two decades. He began his career at NTCC in May 2002 as a maintenance technician before transferring to campus security in 2008. In December 2013, he was named Security Coordinator, where he played a key role in enhancing campus safety operations.
A dedicated public servant, Taylor completed the NTCC Police Academy and earned his Associate of Applied Science degree in Criminal Justice in 2010. He went on to complete an Associate of Science in Business Management in 2015. Since 2011, he has also served as a reserve officer with the Omaha Police Department.
“It’s an honor to continue serving NTCC in this new role,” Taylor said. “This college has been a big part of my life for many years—as an employee, a student, and now as a police officer. I’m proud to help protect and support the community that means so much to me.”
With this promotion, NTCC’s police force now includes three full-time officers: Chief Russell Radke, Sergeant Greg Hollingsworth, and Officer Russell Taylor. The expansion of the department reflects the college’s strong commitment to maintaining a safe and secure environment for students, employees, and visitors.
“Russell’s deep knowledge of the campus, combined with his dedication to public safety and his personal connection as an NTCC graduate, make him a tremendous asset to our department,” said Chief Radke.
Please join us in congratulating Officer Taylor on this well-deserved promotion!
The NTCC Police Department was founded in 2024 and continues to grow. In addition to the three police officers, the college also employs security officers to ensure 24/7 campus monitoring. To learn more, visit www.ntcc.edu/policedepartment.
