Is your new year’s resolution to start a new career? If so, The Northeast Texas Community College Continuing Education department has a great opportunity to consider. A new 13-week HVAC Installer Helper Program begins in January 2025. It focuses on broad, transferable skills, including an understanding of the heating, air-conditioning, refrigeration and ventilation industry. The program will begin January 21st and run through April 9th with classes on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 5:30-9:30 p.m. The HVAC Installer Helper Program meets face-to face and will have a strong emphasis on hands-on training.

“We specifically designed our HVAC program to work around the schedules of adults who work during the day. This is an excellent opportunity for anyone looking to make a career change or get started in the field,” Jimmy Smith, NTCC Director of Continuing Education and Corporate Training, said.

Upon completion, students will be eligible to complete their Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Section 608 Certification. The cost to attend is $3,000. Financial aid is available for students who qualify and payment plans are also an option.

“Heating and cooling is big business in Texas and skilled workers are in high demand. This training will give students the skillset they need to seek entry level employment in a lucrative industry with lots of room for growth,” Smith said.
