The Northeast Texas Community College Continuing Education Department is offering two great new classes this summer. Introduction to Drone Technology is a four-day course for ages 10-16. It is designed to teach students how to safely operate drones and will focus on operating them within the rules and regulations of the FAA. Topics will include basic operation and maintenance, programming and flying skills. The class will be held July 30 through August 2 from 8 a.m. to noon on the main NTCC campus. Drones and other equipment are provided in class. Kali Little and Lacey Mullins will be instructors for the course.†Click for Flyer

A Grant Writing Workshop will also be held Friday, Aug. 3 from 8 to noon on the main NTCC campus. This course will help students learn to prepare compelling letters, proposals and applications for foundation, corporate and government project grants. Students will learn how to raise needed funds for projects, how to research and write winning proposals and how funders determine whether proposals are funded or rejected. †Each participant will leave with tools to assist them in funding their next project. The workshop will be taught by Dr. Shannon Cox-Kelley.†Click for Flyer
