The 5th Annual Engineering Roundtable at Northeast Texas Community College was held on Friday, February 2, 2018 in the Whatley Center Foyer on campus.† Since 2014, this event has become an annual opportunity for both students who are currently enrolled in the NTCC engineering program and students from area high schools who are interested in the field of engineering. Diamond C Trailers of Mt. Pleasant generously sponsored part of this year?s roundtable with a $500 donation.

The NTCC Continuing Education Department is planning a spring travel course to the Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Gardens and the George W. Bush Presidential Library and Museum on Thursday, April 5.
The Northeast Texas Community College Speech and Debate Club will host an open candidate forum for the Democratic candidates for United States House of Representatives District 4 on Monday, Feb. 12 from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m.
The forum will include Catherine Krantz from Rains County and Lander Bethel from Sherman. Krantz and Bethel are the only Democrats facing off in the March 6 Democratic Primary.
Two previously homeschooled scholars, Hannah Joy Dickson, and Matthew Frank Chambers, are recent winners of the†Richard, and Joan Eckman Awards for Excellence in Honors.†† These awards are presented biannually to each of the scholars of the two honors seminars at NTCC who maintain the highest seminar grade-point averages.† Each received a $100 check courtesy of an anonymous donor and friend of Northeast Texas Community College.
Both Dickson, and Chambers have made other contributions to the college and community.
A Northeast Texas Community College professor has been selected by Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) as a Faculty Scholar and will serve as an advisor at the 2018 Honors Institute. This is the sixth year for Dr. Melissa Fulgham, NTCC?s lead advisor for the Alpha Mu Chi Chapter of PTK, Professor of History and Division Director for Humanities & Social Sciences, to serve in this capacity.
