NTCC receives campus safety upgrades

Campus safety is a priority for Northeast Texas Community College. NTCC has placed Automated External Defibrillators (AED’s) strategically in all buildings on the NTCC main campus as well as the satellite locations in Pittsburg and Mount Pleasant. Each month Justin Hargrove, Head Athletic Trainer, performs routine safety/maintenance checks of each machine to ensure they are in proper working order.

This past year, Hargrove partnered with Russell VanBibber of the Northeast Texas Community College Emergency Medical Services (EMS) program to also place Stop the Bleed kits in various locations around the campus. In addition to teaching the staff members and community members CPR throughout the year, VanBibber also teaches Stop the Bleed courses.

"We are pleased to partner with the EMS program, and Jeff Chambers of the NTCC Business office to provide a AED with a Backpack to not only carry the AED, but loaded with gloves, gauze, tourniquet’s, and other Stop the Bleed supplies for our NTCC Security officers to carry in their vehicles while on duty," Hargrove said.

Northeast Texas Community College is committed to ensuring our students and guest safety while on campus. For more information about NTCC Safety and Security, go to www.ntcc.edu/security.
