Northeast Texas Community College will host its August 2026 commencement ceremony on Friday, Aug. 14th in the Whatley Center for the Performing Arts at 7 p.m. Seating is limited, so only guests who have tickets will be admitted into the auditorium. Graduation will be streamed live on NTCC Website and Facebook for those who are unable to attend in person.

The Northeast Texas Community College Vet Assistant program recently celebrated its third graduating class on Monday, August 10, 2026. 

Fourteen new students recently graduated from the program: Molly Brady, Vanessa Buendia, Susan Cassler, Sherlyn Castillo, Joni Figueroa, Emma Fortenberry, Eliana Johnson, Briel Kershaw, Alice Lopez, Ana Lopez, Manuela Paresdes Bradley, Juliana Perez, Emily Salaises and Carla Scott. 

The Northeast Texas Community College Board of Trustees held a special meeting on Tuesday, Aug. 4th. Trustees unanimously voted to propose maintaining the college's current property tax rate of $0.11000 per $100 of taxable valuation for the 2026 tax year. The proposed rate is unchanged from the past three years. No other action was taken.

The NTCC Board did not hold a regular July meeting. A public hearing on the proposed tax rate will be held before the next regular Board of Trustees meeting on Tuesday, Aug. 25, at 5:30 p.m. in the NTCC Community Room. 

The Northeast Texas Community College Work4College Program celebrated another successful summer with its annual appreciation luncheon on Wednesday, Aug. 5. Work4College donors, supervisors, students, and their families gathered in the Student Union Building to recognize the accomplishments of the program and thank those who make it possible. Members of Alpha Mu Chi, Northeast Texas Community College’s chapter of the Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) Honor Society, brought home major honors from the 2026 Phi Theta Kappa Texas Honors Institute held July 10–12 at Tyler Junior College. NTCC students secured four of the ten prestigious Texas Regional Scholarships awarded statewide.

The Dr. Mary Hood Texas STAR Scholarships are open to PTK members across Texas, with selections based on rigorous standards of demonstrated leadership and academic excellence.

The Northeast Texas Community College Bookstore will participate in Texas Tax-Free Weekend on Friday, August 7, and Saturday, August 8, giving students an opportunity to save on qualifying school supplies, uniforms, and NTCC spirit gear.

The bookstore will be open Friday from 8 a.m. to noon and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The fully online Business Administration – Logistics Management Certificate prepares students for careers in one of today's fastest-growing industries.

The Work4College Program at Northeast Texas Community College is honored to recognize the generous support of Diamond C Trailers through a donation that will help students participating in the Fall and Spring Work4College Program.
