Medical Assistant program accepting applications
The Medical Assistant (MA) Program at Northeast Texas Community College is now accepting applications for the 2024-2025 academic year. The deadline to apply is April 30th. Applications and information are available at www.ntcc.edu/medassist.
Celtic Angels Ireland to perform March 19th at the Whatley
Get ready to be swept away to another land with a mesmerizing production of Celtic Angels Ireland at the Whatley Center for the Performing Arts at Northeast Texas Community College. The performance is scheduled for Tuesday, March 19th at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $35 for adults and $10 for children and NTCC students with a current ID.
Winners announced for cosmetology contest
Students in the NTCC Cosmetology Program recently enjoyed a bit of friendly competition with a manikin hair and makeup contest. After a lesson on how to professionally apply makeup, students were assigned the task of completing a full makeover on a teaching manikin. The goal was to include a full face of makeup and a formal updo hairstyle. While all of the manikins looked amazing, popular vote chose the following as the winners:

March is National Athletic Training Month
Northeast Texas Community College would like to recognize all the Area Athletic Trainers who go above and beyond to take care of the athletes they serve. March is designated at National Athletic Training Month and this year the slogan is “From Head to Toe”. From Concussions and head lacerations to muscle strains and broken bones all the way to sprained toes, Athletic Trainers are here to care for our athletes.
A&M Texarkana plans transfer events
Texas A&M Texarkana at NTCC has two upcoming transfer events for NTCC students. The first is a Preview Day on Friday, March 8. It will be held at the Patterson Student Center on the A&M-Texarkana campus from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Prospective students will learn more about topics like:

CARE Center receives $3,000 grant
The Northeast Texas Community College CARE Center recently learned that it received a $3,000 grant from Swipe Out Hunger – the leading national nonprofit working to end college student food insecurity. NTCC was one of 102 colleges that received more than $420,000 in grants for their campuses. The NTCC funds will be used to purchase a new computer and software to help manage food pantry inventory.
Nursing students participate in TRMC heart health fair
NTCC Nursing students, including LVN and RN levels 2 and 4, shared fellowship with the Titus Regional Medical Center staff through educating the community about heart health issues. They were led by Tim Elmore and Beverly Price. TRMC hosted its annual React Quicker, Save Your Ticker heart health fair on Saturday, February 17, offering free and low-cost testing, education at community-led booths, and guests received free health screenings and hands only CPR training.
