Northeast Texas Community College welcomes Artist Tom Morrissey as the exhibiting artist for February.  His artwork will be on display beginning Friday, February 1st – Thursday, February 22nd.  A reception will be held on Wednesday, February 7th, at 12:30 p.m. in the Whatley Center for the Performing Arts.

The Northeast Texas Community College Foundation and the Carroll Shelby Automotive Program took center stage in front of thousands and a national television audience last Friday night at the Barrett-Jackson auction in Scottsdale, Arizona. The college’s 1968 Shelby GT350 convertible sold to John Simonetti from Granbury, Texas with a bid of $100,000.

The Northeast Texas Community College Board of Trustees met for its regular January meeting on Tuesday, Jan. 30th. In the President’s Report, Dr. Ron Clinton stated that preliminary enrollment numbers show a 2.8% increase in headcount and a 4.4% increase in semester hours for the spring 2024 semester.

McCraw and Majors

Albert Einstein once noted that creative people see what others see, they, however, think differently about it. During the past fall semester, two Honors Scholars in the NTCC honors program, Honors Northeast, conceptualized and thought their way into preeminence, emerging as fall showcases of achievement at NTCC.  Both Luke McCraw and Alison Majors exhibited a level of academic excellence equivalent to the top-tier of the NTCC honors program.

After making outstanding contributions to campus life at NTCC in the classroom and out, two new scholars have entered the ranks of Honors Northeast, NTCC’s campus-wide honors program, this spring. Sarah Dierflinger (left), a Social Work Major from Winnsboro, and Michael Rodriguez, an agriculture major from Marietta, both joined other honors students recently in their first honors event, a free day-trip to Dallas.
