Northeast Texas Community College hosted its annual college fair on Thursday, Oct. 20th in the Student Union Building. The event brought representatives from more than 20 universities to campus to meet with prospective transfer students.

The Northeast Texas Community College Rodeo team made the long trip down to Uvalde, Texas for the Southwest Texas Junior College Rodeo October 6-8th. This was the 60th Annual Rodeo put on by the SWTJC Rodeo team, which also had a special tribute to the victims of the tragic Uvalde School shooting this past spring.

The Northeast Texas Community College Continuing Education and Corporate Training department is pleased to announce a training partnership with Advanced Dental Assistant School in Naples. Their 15-week program prepares students for a career as a Professional Expanded Texas Registered Dental Assistant (RDA). Students who enroll through the NTCC partnership may be eligible for $1,000 in financial aid.

Honors Northeast, the Northeast Texas Community College Honors Program, is pleased to announce its Honors Students for the 2022-2023 school year. This includes seven Presidential Scholars and 18 Honors Scholars.

Beginning Fall 2020 due to recent strategies to include ag classes as science options in core, developing a new method of delivering dual credit courses in our cooperating ISD’s and improving and expanding our on-line offerings- as COVID hit, the Northeast Texas Community College Agriculture department doubled enrollment. Following this substantial increase, every semester showed double digit growth!

The Northeast Texas Community College Vocational Nursing (VN) program recently learned that 100% of its graduates from August 2022 passed their NCLEX-PN examinations. This marks the second year in a row that the VN program has had a 100% pass rate.

There is still time to register for the fall 2nd 8-week term at NTCC! Classes start Monday, Oct. 17th. Most current students should be able to register online in the myeagle portal. New students and those who cannot register online should e-mail advising@ntcc.edu or stop by the Student Services Building first thing Monday morning. 

Andrew Daniel

Northeast Texas Community College’s own Dr. Andrew Daniel will be joined by two members of his family for an instrumental trio performance on Sunday, Oct. 23rd at 2:30 p.m. at the Whatley Center for the Performing Arts. Daniel, NTCC Professor of Music, will play guitar while his son, André Daniel, performs the violin, and his mother, Sherry Daniel, accompanies on piano.

The Northeast Texas Community College Art Department will host an exhibit featuring decorative painters from the Quitman chapter of the Society of Decorative Painters on October 7th through 26th in the Whatley Center for the Performing Arts foyer.

Northeast Texas Community College’s Dr. Page Petrucka was recently honored by the Texas Educational Theatre Association (TxETA) for her original 10-minute play called Number 42. She received the award at the group’s annual Playfest event in Galveston this September.
