Northeast Texas Community College (NTCC) is proud to announce that one of its own, Police Officer Christopher “Topher” Weisinger, has released a gripping new Christian fiction novel titled Thief in the Night: Shelter in the Storm. Published under the pen name Topher Weisinger, the book marks his debut in the genre of eschatological fiction.
Drawing inspiration from a lifelong fascination with biblical prophecy and the Left Behind series, Weisinger explores the harrowing "what if" of those remaining on Earth following the Rapture. The story centers on Sherman Taylor, a pragmatic construction supervisor from Fort Worth, who is thrust into a world of sudden global collapse and the onset of the Great Tribulation.
"This story is a fictional exploration of deeply held theological beliefs," says Weisinger. "It attempts to put flesh and bone on the prophecies described in the books of Daniel and Revelation, imagining the human cost of these divine judgments."
Weisinger is the newest member of NTCC's Police Department who joined the force in early 2026. He is a graduate of Navarro College Police Academy and holds a bachelor’s degree in Communications and Criminal Justice. Weisinger is currently completing a master’s degree in Criminal Justice, which he expects to earn in May 2026.
