Judge Angela Saucier, 76th Judicial Court Judge for Camp, Morris and Titus Counties, gave an alumni address. Saucier was a 1994 graduate of NTCC who went on to complete her education at LeTourneau University and then Southern Methodist University’s Denman School of Law. For ten years, she served as the Camp County Attorney before taking the bench as the Judge for the 76th Judicial District in 2019—a position to which she was recently and overwhelmingly re-elected. Her address encouraged students to persist in the face of hardship and failure to reach long-term goals.

The evening also featured remarks from Dr. Kevin Rose, NTCC President, and Dr. Jackie Johnston, President of the Faculty Senate, who also served as master of ceremonies. Dr. Anna Ingram, Vice President for Instruction, announced the awards. Julie Ratliff, Professor of English, announced Sky Bass and Addison Wilson as the winners of Faculty Senate Scholarships.

"I would like to extend a special thank-you to Dr. Melissa Fulgham, who was instrumental in bringing everything together in her role as Chair of the Student Awards Committee,” Johnston said. “Events like this require a lot of coordination and hard work. All of that effort resulted in a wonderful night as we celebrated our students."

The Faculty Senate would also like to thank the faculty members who nominated students and assisted with the event. They are also appreciative of the Great Western Dining team for catering the event and the Plant Services and Work4College teams for assisting with decorations and setup. The Eagle Excellence Awards highlight the value of academic excellence and the positive impact students have on the NTCC learning community.
