Behind every nurse, welder, teacher, first responder, mechanic, and business professional is a story—and for thousands of people across Northeast Texas, that story begins at Northeast Texas Community College (NTCC).

A recent economic impact study found that NTCC alumni generated $27.2 million in added income for the local economy during the 2023-24 fiscal year. Those graduates are helping businesses grow, filling high-demand jobs, and providing essential services throughout Camp, Morris, and Titus counties.

"Our mission is to prepare students for careers that matter while helping local employers build the workforce they need to succeed," said Jimmy Smith, Dean of Workforce. "By listening to our business and industry partners, we can develop programs that equip students with the skills employers are looking for. When our graduates succeed, our entire region benefits.”

That partnership is something local employers see firsthand as they hire NTCC graduates and watch them succeed in the workplace.

“NTCC is a trusted, valued, knowledgeable business and community partner focused on high-impact talent and career development. Partnering with Jimmy Smith and the NTCC team on specialized trade certifications and skills development has helped Diamond C fuel the growth and success of our team members, customers, and community,” Barbara Grubbs, Vice President of Human Resources for Diamond C Trailers said. “We are proud to continue investing together in our community. NTCC has the best interests of Mount Pleasant and North Texas residents at heart and proves it through taking actions that make a real difference for our workforce and careers.

Whether they're caring for patients, teaching children, keeping our communities safe, repairing vehicles, manufacturing products, or driving the local economy forward, NTCC graduates are making a difference every day.
