Items of Information
Dr. Rose gave an update on the new strategic planning process. The theme of the plan is NTCC 2030: Empowering the Future. The plan is in the early phase of drafting, but the goal is to have a plan developed by mid-spring 2026. The framework of the plan will be based on five high-level strategic priorities which have been identified as: Community and Workforce Development, Academic and Technological Innovation, Student Success and Belonging, and Culture of Collaboration and Excellence. "The goal is to tackle five overarching priorities in five years. We believe this will allow us to have an outcomes driven model that will result in tremendous advancement at the institution," Rose said.
Board members expressed interest in how the goals will be measured and encouraged an emphasis on highlighting alumni success stories. Rose noted that these comments will be taken into consideration as the core strategic planning team continues to flesh out the plan. In addition to rolling out the plan to students, faculty and staff, the college will also seek feedback from local communities through a series of public listening sessions.
- Dr. Jon McCullough, Executive Vice President for Advancement, gave an update on the Carroll Shelby Automotive Institute. He stated that the Shelby building recently received a facelift with Shelby blue accents and new lettering. He also reported on the SEMA convention in Las Vegas that was held in November. Several students attended and were able to participate in the unveiling of the new Shelby American drift car at a special event. He noted that NTCC is currently searching for a new Director of the CSAI that will focus on marketing, recruitment and developing the reputation of the program at a national level.
- The Foundation reported $126,262 in donations and grants for the month of October
