Eagles baseball fights for playoff spot
With just over a month left to play in the season the Eagles currently find themselves sitting in fourth place in the NJCAA Region XIV Eastern Zone. With an overall record of 11-18 and a conference mark of 5-9, the Eagles trail Paris Junior College (6-4), Panola (9-3) and Navarro (10-2) in the race to make the Regional Tournament.
?It has been a bit of a rough season for us so far, but we are not out of the playoff picture yet,? Eagles Head Coach Josh Stewart said.
Eagles softball heads into conference play
The Lady Eagles softball team will be looking to improve on a 10-19 record as they enter Conference play against Navarro Wednesday. Despite losing eight of their last nine, the Lady Eagles are confident as they move into the heart of their 2013 schedule.
?We have played some very tough teams and we have been learning as we go,? head coach Jessica Keith said.
Donovan Dowling named head soccer coach
Donovan Dowling has been named the new head coach of both the men?s and women?s soccer programs at Northeast Texas Community College. Dowling comes to the program after spending the past two years at Fort Hays State University in Hays, Kansas.
In his two years at Fort Hays State University, an NCAA Division II member, Dowling was the top assistant for the men?s program which he helped build from the ground up, with the program?s inception beginning in the fall of 2011.

Northeast Texas Community College will be closed from Monday, March 11 to Friday, March 15 for spring break. The campus will resume regular hours on Monday, March 18. In case of an emergency on campus during this time, please call security at 903-563-1417.
Andrew Yox named President-Elect of Great Plains Honors Council
Northeast Texas Community College professor Andrew Yox of Mount Pleasant has been named President-Elect of the Great Plains Honors Council (GPHC). Yox was chosen to serve by his peers and will assume his new role at the annual GPHC conference at West Texas A&M University this April 5-7. He will begin his term as President in November 2013.†

Whatley Center to host national tour of "As You Like It"
The Whatley Center for the Performing Arts at Northeast Texas Community College will host a performance of the national tour of Shakespeare's comedy†As You Like It†on Friday, April 5 at 7:30 p.m. The show is presented by The Acting Company of New York.
