The Northeast Texas Community College Continuing Education department is excited announce a new workforce training opportunity. Starting this September, NTCC will launch a 13-week HVAC Installer Helper Program. The curriculum focuses on broad, transferable skills, including an understanding of the heating, air-conditioning, refrigeration and ventilation industry.
Classes will begin September 24th and run through December 17th on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 5:30-9:30 p.m. The program meets face-to face and will have a strong emphasis on hands-on training.
“We specifically designed our HVAC program to work around the schedules of adults who work during the day. This is an excellent opportunity for anyone looking to make a career change or get started in the field,” Jimmy Smith, NTCC Director of Continuing Education and Corporate Training, said.
Upon completion, students will be eligible to complete their Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Section 608 Certification. The cost to attend is $3,000. Financial aid is available for students who qualify and payment plans are also an option.
“Heating and cooling is big business in Texas and skilled workers are in high demand. This training will give students the skillset they need to seek entry level employment in a lucrative industry with lots of room for growth,” Smith said.
