The Northeast Texas Community College Student Government Association (SGA) recently recognized two student organizations on campus. The Phi Theta Kappa Alpha Mu Chi chapter was awarded Outstanding Student Organization for the 2013-2014 school year. To be eligible for this award an organization must exhibit how it has contributed to the college, community, and the development of its members. Members of Alpha Mu Chi are pictured along with PTK Advisor Dr. Melissa Weinbrenner and Rico Willis, Director of Student Activities and Multicultural Affairs. The club received $200 towards its organizational account and a plaque.

The Cosmetology Club (not pictured) was awarded the Student Activities Attendance Award. This is given to the club that has the most participation in campus activities throughout the year. They received a plaque and $100 toward their student organization account.
