The Northeast Texas Community College Honors Program will host the 4th annual McGraw-Hill Poster Contest on Friday, April 27 at 9:30 a.m. in the Whatley Center foyer. The event is funded by McGraw-Hill companies.

Full-time students at NTCC, as well as seniors from area high schools, are welcome to compete. Prospective contestants should contact Andrew Yox at†ayox@ntcc.edu†with an abstract of their presentation by noon on April 25. Judges will look for works of scholarship that show student's ability to produce and maintain a thesis.

Judges from the community will score students on the basis of their poster, their ability to answer questions, and on the originality or creativity of their idea.

"I always find this to be one of the most stimulating events of the year. It's fun to find a topic you like and simply ask a student about it. The students who compete, which I think include our college's best, are usually more than eager to share his/her best ideas," Dr. Andrew Yox, NTCC Honors Director, said.

Winning projects will receive cash prizes. First place receives $400, second place receives $300, third place receives $200 and fourth place receives $100.
