About Us

More than half of the students in Delta, Hopkins, Franklin, Morris, Red River, and Titus Counties in rural Northeast Texas have been identified by their schools as being at risk of dropping out of school. Communities In Schools of Northeast Texas, part of the nation's largest stay-in-school network and Northeast Texas Community College's Division of Student and Outreach Services, is working to help empower those students to stay in school, succeed, and graduate from high school ready for college or the workforce.

Communities In Schools of Northeast Texas places a professional with a background in social work, education, psychology, counseling, or other related discipline, in each of the schools served. These professionals, called Site Coordinators, work to help these students overcome potential barriers to their academic success.
