Softball sweeps Southern Arkansas Community College

Northeast Texas Community College hosted the Southern Arkansas Community College Stars in softball action on March 4, 2023 and came away with two run rule victories. Game won saw the Eagles take down the Stars 10-2 and game two NTCC also put up ten runs in an 10-1 win over Southern Arkansas CC.

Summer Success program planned for 2023 high school grads

Students who will graduate high school in 2023 are invited to join the Summer Success Program at NTCC!  This is a great opportunity for new grads to get a jump start on college and make new friends!

Eligible students who enroll in (and pay for) six hours during the first summer session will be awarded a scholarship to live on campus for free during that time. In addition to experiencing life on a college campus, participants will also be involved in special activities designed to boost their overall success rate as a college student.

Harley Jo Chaffin named Longview Orthopaedic student of the week

Harley Jo Chaffin was selected as the Longview Orthopaedic Star Foundation student of the week for March 5th-11th. Harley Jo competes for the Northeast Texas Community College Rodeo team.

A valued member of the team, Chaffin, from Ivanhoe, Texas competes in Goat tying, Ladies Breakaway and Team Roping for the Eagles. Chaffin was the 2021 Region 4 Texas High School Rodeo Champion prior to coming to NTCC.

NTCC Board holds regular February meeting

The Northeast Texas Community College Board of Trustees met for its regular February meeting on Tuesday, Feb. 28th at 5:30 p.m.

Dr. Ron Clinton, NTCC President, reported that the bill for proposed changes to the community college funding model was released this week. It is Texas House Bill 8, and more information will be made clear in weeks to come as the state legislature moves forward with its work.

PTA students volunteer at special needs Valentine's dance

Six current NTCC Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) students recently had the opportunity to volunteer at a special needs Valentine’s dance at Coppergate Ranch. These students took extra time out of their weekend to help make the event memorable for attendees aged 9-67. One special guest, Grace, was a 17-year-old girl who got to celebrate her first birthday party at the dance.
