Alpha Mu Chi, NTCC’s chapter of Phi Theta Kappa, won several awards at the Society’s recent international convention, known as PTK Catalyst. Eleven members traveled to Kansas City to attend the convention. Catalyst 2025 brought thousands of Phi Theta Kappa members, advisors, and supporters together to hear inspiring keynote speakers and celebrate the efforts of chapters from the United States and ten other nations.

The Northeast Texas Community College (NTCC) Foundation has received a $360,000 gift from the estate of David and Pat Sistrunk. This generous contribution will establish the NTCC Building Enhancement Fund, dedicated to supporting campus facility improvements and long-term infrastructure needs.

Northeast Texas Community College celebrated spring in a big way with its annual Easter Bash, held at the NTCC Athletics Complex. The event drew a large crowd of students, faculty, and staff who gathered for a fun-filled afternoon of music, games, and an epic Easter egg hunt.
More than 3,000 eggs were hidden across the complex—including 36 golden eggs with exciting prizes like hoverboards, movie tickets, and high-tech lap desks. The hunt was a huge hit, with every egg found in just a matter of minutes.
Thanks to the generosity of an anonymous donor, the Northeast Texas Community College Foundation has a new endowed scholarship. NTCC recently received a gift of $25,500 to establish the new Charles L. and M. Hazel Black Scholarship. The scholarship is open to students with financial need. Northeast Texas Community College is excited to announce the official name of its new outdoor pavilion—The Eagles Nest! Formerly referred to as the Unity Center during construction, the final name was selected through a campus-wide vote, reflecting school spirit and student pride.
To celebrate the opening of this exciting new space, NTCC will host a ribbon cutting ceremony on Wednesday, May 1, from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. The event will take place at the pavilion, located next to the Student Union Building.
Northeast Texas Community College’s Continuing Education and Corporate Training department recently celebrated the completion of its HVAC Installer Helper Certificate Program with a special ceremony honoring 14 graduates. The 13-week, 140-hour program provided students with hands-on training and essential foundational knowledge to begin a career in the HVAC industry.

The STEM Lunch and Learn meeting Tuesday, April 15, witnessed a “standing room only” crowd as approximately 95 students, faculty, and administrators attended the presentations given by three NTCC students and an NTCC biology professor.
