Psi Beta Honor Society hosted its 6th Annual Suicide Prevention Training and 5K, Saturday, April 12. Adam Metts, Director of East Texas A&M Counseling Center, and Tina Yang, Ph.D., Associate Director, presented QPR (Question, Persuade, and Refer) training.
Heavyn Smith said of the training: "Just like CPR, the more people who know how to talk to someone who is thinking about suicide, the more lives we can save."
Dr. Karyn Skaar, Psi Beta sponsor, reported that 50+ people attended the event.

The Northeast Texas Community College Rodeo team make the trip to Wharton, Texas this weekend to compete in the 9th National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association (NIRA) Southern Region Rodeo and the Team Ropers had a great weekend.

The Northeast Texas Community College Athletic Department will host a First Responders Appreciation Day on Saturday, April 26, 2025. NTCC Baseball will be hosting Angelina College that day in a double header game starting at 1:00pm.
First Responders will get in free, receive a free hot dog, chips and a drink as well as be recognized prior to the first pitch. Just bring you badge or work ID or official department gear to receive free admission and the free snacks.
The Northeast Texas Community College (NTCC) Baseball Team is proud to announce the generous support of Texas Heritage Bank, whose recent donation has made it possible to purchase and install a brand-new scoreboard at Eagle Field.
This meaningful contribution will significantly enhance the game-day experience for players, fans, and the local community. The new scoreboard not only improves functionality and visibility but also represents a renewed investment in the future of NTCC Athletics.

Each spring, the Texas Junior College Agriculture Association (TJCAA) hosts one of the most anticipated events of the year for community college ag students across the state. This year’s conference and competition, held April 2–4 at Texas A&M University–Kingsville, was no exception—and Northeast Texas Community College (NTCC) was proud to be well represented by an incredible group of students who brought their passion, knowledge, and teamwork to South Texas.
Two Northeast Texas Community College Honor Societies gathered in the Community Room on Monday, April 14th to induct new members. Sigma Kappa Delta inducted five members and Phi Theta Kappa inducted 24. Click here to view/download event photos.
