Tommy Lee Biker Run donates $5,000 for NTCC scholarships

The Northeast Texas Community College Foundation recently received a gift for $5,000. These funds were raised at the annual Tommy Lee Memorial Biker Run and will be used to provide scholarships to Camp County students attending NTCC. Fast track office skills certificate program begins April 2


Limited seats are still available for Northeast Texas Community College's new fast track office skills certificate program that begins April 2. This 21-hour course is designed to help individuals cultivate the skills necessary to seek entry-level work in an office setting. Topics covered will include Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, business etiquette and more.

Two Presidential Scholars win essay awards

Northeast Texas Community College Presidential Scholars Isaac Burris and Morgan Capps both received top awards during the recent meeting of the Texas State Historical Association (TSHA)† in Corpus Christi.

At a session of the Walter Webb Society on March 7, the collegiate auxiliary of the TSHA, Capps won second†place and $300 for her essay on Ma and Pa Ferguson, a Texas gubernatorial couple during the early 20th century.† Isaac Burris won fourth†place and $75 for his essay on the dynamics of Sam Houston?s friendship with his slave, Jeff Hamilton.

Ron Clinton to perform piano concert


Dr. Ron Clinton, Northeast Texas Community College Executive Vice President for Instruction, will perform a solo piano recital on Sunday, March 22 at†2:30 p.m. at the Whatley Center for the Performing Arts.†Tickets to the concerts are $10 for adults and $5 for children and NTCC students with a current ID. Proceeds from the event will benefit scholarships for NTCC students.

NTCC receives $6k gift for Work Scholarship Program

The Northeast Texas Community College Foundation recently received an anonymous $6,000 donation to sponsor six students in the new NTCC Work Scholarship Program. Nita May (left), NTCC Director of Development, and Dr. Jonathan McCullough, NTCC Vice President for Advancement, accepted the gift on behalf of the Foundation. Anyone interested in sponsoring a student in the Work Scholarship Program should contact McCullough at 903-434-8115.
