Women's soccer kicks off season with a win
The Northeast Texas Community College (NTCC) Women?s Eagles Soccer team kicked off their season with a win this week defeating Eastern Oklahoma State College 3-1 on Wednesday.
Eastern Oklahoma put their first and only point on the board at 15-minutes into the first half. Ruth Rosales scored the first goal for the Eagles 15 minutes later and Michelle Butron assisted McKenzia Goedicke, pulling the Eagles into the lead 40 minutes into the game.
Northeast Texas Poetry Reading scheduled for Sept. 5
These and other questions will be at stake at the Seventh Annual Northeast Texas Poetry Reading on Friday, Sept. 5 at 11 a.m. in†the foyer of the Whatley Center for the Performing Arts at Northeast Texas Community College.†The public is welcome to attend this free event.
The Reading will feature readings from the six winners of the 2014 Northeast Texas Poetry competition.

NTCC open Saturday, Aug. 23 for registration
Northeast Texas Community College will be open from 8 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Aug. 23 to assist students with registration for the Fall †2014 semester. Students will have the opportunity to meet with academic advisors, access computers to register online, make payments and receive help with financial aid.
The College Store will also be open during this time to allow students to purchase books and other supplies.
