Christmas decor class planned

Want to get in the holiday spirit? Sign up for Christmas Decor & More presented by NTCC Agriculture and Continuing Education! Get your home ready for the Christmas holidays with this two-session class. You will make two decor pieces that you can take home. 

Classes are Dec. 1 and 8 at 6 p.m. at the Elizabeth Hoggatt Whatley Ag Complex. The cost is $49 per person. Cyruss Ragsdale will be the instructor. E-mail continuinged@ntcc.edu or 903-434-8134 to register!

Honors presents at state Webb Society

Scholars of Honors Northeast, connected with last summer’s film project on Bo Pilgrim, submitted a video last Monday for the 46th Fall meeting of the State of Texas Webb Society, held this Friday, 13 November via Zoom. The Webb Society is the collegiate auxiliary of the Texas State Historical Association, and is comprised of both university and community college chapters.

A&M-Texarkana at NTCC hosts Coffee Chat with Mayor Craig

The NTCC community is invited to attend a virtual Coffee Chat hosted by Texas A&M University-Texarkana on Friday, Nov. 20 at 10 a.m. Mayor Tracy Craig, Sr. of Mount Pleasant, who is a recent graduate of A&M-Texarkana, will discuss his experience as a transfer student and give advice for future students interested in transferring to A&M-Texarkana. Continuing Education offers Fall Decorating Workshop

The NTCC Continuing Education and Agriculture departments will offer a Fall Decorating Workshop November 10th and 17th from 6:00-7:30 p.m. Need new ideas for decorating your home for fall? Join them for two class sessions on new and fresh ideas for preparing your home for fall and the Thanksgiving holiday. Participants will create and take home two fall decor items.

Organizations team up for Eagle Pantry holiday food drive

The NTCC Office of Student Activities, Student Government Association, Social Work Club and The Wesley Fellowship Student Center are partnering together to host a campus wide Advent Calendar food drive to support The Eagle Pantry. Carolina Alcocer-Salas wins Charles B. Florio Award

Carolina Alcocer-Salas, the president of NTCC’s award-winning chapter of Phi Theta Kappa (Alpha Mu Chi) and the secretary of the student council of Honors Northeast, has won the 2020 Dr. Charles B. Florio Award for Leadership. Alcocer-Salas will receive $200, given by an anonymous donor, in honor of Northeast Texas Community College’s longest-term president.

Two students complete NTCC Professional Driving Academy

The Northeast Texas Community College Professional Driving Academy recently celebrated the graduation of two students. Maverick Elwell and Alexandro Ramirez completed the program and were awarded their certificates on October 29.
