The Northeast Texas Community College Foundation is now accepting applications for the International Sulphur Transfer Scholarship. This scholarship fund provides five awards of $1,000 each for NTCC students transferring to a four-year university. Those†who meet the criteria below should plan to apply by April 14 in order to be considered for this scholarship:

• Are you a Camp, Morris, or Titus County resident?

• Do you have a minimum GPA of 3.0

Sondra Fowler recently gave a $2,000 gift to the Northeast Texas Community College Foundation. She is pictured (left) presenting the check to Dr. Jonathan McCullough, NTCC Vice President for Advancement. Because she is a retired employee of ConocoPhillips, she qualifies for a matching gift program that is offered by the corporation.†The gift will be matched with an additional $2,000, bringing her total scholarship contribution to $4,000. The donation will provide scholarships for the Alfred and Ethel Fowler Morris County Scholarship fund.

Amigos Latinos Al Servicios (ALAS) of Texas recently presented a check for $7,500 to the Northeast Texas Community College Foundation. The funds were raised at the second annual Cinco de Mayo on the Square event that was held in Mount Pleasant this year and will provide scholarships for local students attending NTCC. ALAS is a volunteer group of Latino professionals in Titus County with a vision to empower, promote, advocate and help identify the needs of the growing Hispanic community in Mount Pleasant and surrounding areas. The Northeast Texas Community College Foundation recently received a $35,000 gift from the Texas Pioneer Foundation. Fred Markham (left), Executive Director of the Texas Pioneer Foundation, is pictured presenting the check to Dr. Jonathan McCullough, NTCC Vice President for Advancement. The funds will be used to support the NTCC Work Scholarship Program. The Texas Pioneer Foundation is a private foundation that supports programs that will improve the quality and results of education for all Texas students.

Helen Hampton recently gave $3,000 to sponsor the upcoming performance of The Hunts at the Whatley Center for the Performing Arts. Hampton (second from left) is pictured presenting the check to Dr. Jonathan McCullough (left), NTCC Vice President for Advancement, Nita May, NTCC Director of Development, and Carolyn Franks, Whatley Center Director. The Hunts will perform on the Whatley Stage November 12 at 7:30 p.m. The family of seven brothers and sisters combine their vocal and instrumental talents to create a fresh, distinctive indie folk sound.

The Northeast Texas Community College Foundation recently received a $500 scholarship from the Pleasant Sams, the Mount Pleasant Chapter of the Good Sam Club of America. The Winnsboro Community Foundation recently gave $2,000 for the Band of Angels Memorial Scholarship for Caregiving at Northeast Texas Community College. The scholarship, which was created in memory of Bobbie Craddock, will support nontraditional students training in healthcare-related fields. Sue Hamm, Craddock?s daughter, got the idea for the scholarship during the last months of her mother?s life as she saw the tireless, selfless work of the caregivers who took care of Mrs. Craddock.

Michael Brown and Mount Pleasant Running Company recently raised more than $2,000†in support of The Team Arise Veteran Scholarship Fund†at Northeast Texas Community College.†Team Arise is an organization that provides scholarships to local veterans and children of veterans.

The 20th Century Study Club of Pittsburg recently gave $1,000 to help sponsor a student in the Northeast Texas Community College Work Scholarship Program.
