Nursing students participate in TRMC heart health fair

nursing students at fair

NTCC Nursing students, including LVN and RN levels 2 and 4, shared fellowship with the Titus Regional Medical Center staff through educating the community about heart health issues. They were led by Tim Elmore and Beverly Price. TRMC hosted its annual React Quicker, Save Your Ticker heart health fair on Saturday, February 17, offering free and low-cost testing, education at community-led booths, and guests received free health screenings and hands only CPR training.

blood draw

NTCC nursing students partnered a booth with the National Marrow Donor Program to educate and register our community’s patrons, aged 18-40, should the need arise to be the match for blood borne illnesses. Our nursing students drew blood in the lab testing area, checked blood glucose levels, measured blood pressures, and registered patrons for calcium score testing in collaboration with the TRMC cardiologists. This opportunity provided NTCC nursing students an excellent educational experience to highlight their topnotch skills and knowledge to the community.
