PLACE lecture to focus on ?Technology and the Brain?

?Technology and the Brain? will be the focus of a Program for Learning and Community Engagement (PLACE) lecture on Monday, Oct. 30, at 12:15 p.m. in the Community Room of the Humanities Building on the Northeast Texas Community College campus in Mount Pleasant, Texas.

Dr. David Yells, provost and vice president for academic affairs at Texas A&M University-Texarkana, will be the guest speaker.

The free event is open to the public. The lecture also will be available online via†Zoom technology at†https://tamut.zoom.us/j/692518392.

?Continuing developments in technology have contributed to an increased understanding of the human brain,? said Dr. Yells. ?My presentation will focus on some of these developments, with an emphasis on how this greater understanding can contribute diagnosis and treatment of various conditions."

PLACE is a faculty-led program designed to create a community of learners comprising A&M-Texarkana students, faculty, staff and the community at large. PLACE chooses an annual theme around which to organize a lecture series and other activities that provide focal points for learning and discussion. This year?s theme is ?Science and Technology.?
